Winter is here and it is the time for Parathas and lots of fresh fenugreek aka hari methi. I make this mixed flour spicy paratha once a week. It is a yummy treat and takes care of the intake of leafy greens too!
This recipe gives 8 parathas
1 cup- whole wheat flour/aata
1/2 cup- chick pea flour/besan
1 medium onion, chopped very fine
1 big bunch of fresh fenugreek leaves/hari methi, chopped fine
2 green chilies, chopped fine
1/2 tsp asafetida
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp aamchur/mango powder
1 tsp oil
Mix all the listed ingredients and knead a medium firm dough. Keep covered for 20 minutes. Roll out like chapatis and roast on the tawa/griddle on both sides applying little oil. Serve hot with homemade white butter or pickle.
It can also be served with a crunchy stir fry. I served it with aloo gobhi.
